- In order to create this exciting format, companies were asked to organise the videos in the operating theatres, filmed with live narration, as the surgeons operated.
- This new approach allowed surgeons to operate in familiar environments and with their own patients.
- It also allowed the selection of more challenging cases than would usually be seen with live surgery.
- Any possible ethical issues associated with live surgery were avoided.
